Plymouth’s Greens have accused Labour of looking “weak” and “afraid of Reform” during Monday’s Full Council meeting, while also launching a stinging attack on Reform itself.
The Green group said: “On Monday, Labour looked weak and, honestly, afraid of Reform. Reform barely spoke during the meeting and are themselves in chaos, having lost a quarter of their councillors since May.”
The Greens said they had arrived prepared with what they described as “hopeful, practical and researched policies” for Plymouth, while accusing Reform of concentrating on “culture war politics” which they claimed largely had nothing to do with the city.
But they also criticised Labour over the way debate was handled.
“Labour won’t win by shutting down debate,” the group said.
“Relying on procedures rather than engaging in difficult conversations only shows that they don’t have the answers.”
