And So It Begins… Plymouth’s New Political Era Arrives At The Council House

All smiles, handshakes and first-day nerves as Plymouth’s newly elected councillors arrived at the Council House today for their first official induction following last week’s local elections.

Fresh from the campaign trail and election counts, new Reform UK councillors Helen Kelly, Mark Hadfield, Andrew Crumplin, Paul Rielly and Vanessa Tyler were pictured arriving together ahead of the day’s meetings, a powerful image that marked the start of a major new chapter in Plymouth politics.

New Green Party councillors Byran Driver and Saahi Aroori were also seen arriving for their first day inside the Council House, smiling for photographs as councillors from across the political spectrum gathered under one roof for the first time since the election.

One moment that stood out saw Reform councillor Andrew Crumplin greeting Green Party councillor Byran Driver with a handshake and a laugh outside the building a reminder that despite political differences, day one began with smiles and respect across party lines.

For some, it was the start of an entirely new journey inside Plymouth politics.

But for Tudor Evans, it was business as usual.

As the new councillors arrived full of energy and expectation, the long-serving council leader was pictured arriving at the Council House himself, just another day for the man at the helm.

Now the real work begins.
