Conservative candidates have been out canvassing in Plymstock Dunstone as the local election campaign steps up.
Leading the visit was Andy Lugger, leader of the Conservatives in Plymouth and the party’s candidate for the ward. He was joined by local MP Rebecca Smith, who is stepping down from her role as a city councillor, and Dr John Mahony, who is standing as the Conservative candidate to take her place.
The team spent time speaking directly with residents, discussing local issues and hearing first-hand what matters most across the area. The session forms part of a wider push to connect with voters on the ground as polling day approaches.
Rebecca Smith is not seeking re-election at council level, with Dr Mahony now stepping forward as the candidate for the ward, alongside the party’s wider campaign across the city.
Andy Lugger said getting out into the community and having direct conversations remains a key part of the campaign.
With candidates increasingly visible across Plymouth, face-to-face engagement is becoming a central part of the run-up to the vote.
