A Plymouth man has been jailed for 16 years after admitting a catalogue of sexual offences against children.
John Woodley-Rennie, 39, of Ocean Street, Plymouth, was sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court today (Friday, August 21) after pleading guilty to 16 charges.
The offences included making and distributing indecent images of children, sexual communication with a child and causing or inciting a boy under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
He was first arrested in January 2025 after travelling to meet someone he believed was a teenage boy, but was instead met by officers from the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit.
A subsequent Devon and Cornwall Police investigation uncovered historic abuse of a male child in Plymouth during the 2010s. Police said the abuse occurred repeatedly over a prolonged period and was photographed or filmed.
Police described Woodley-Rennie as a dangerous sex offender and said the sentence would keep him away from the community for a significant period.
