A murder investigation has been launched in Plymouth after a man in his 20s was found dead following a serious assault at a property on Embankment Road on Monday evening.
Emergency services were called at around 8.20pm on 4 May, where paramedics treated the man, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder following early enquiries and remains in police custody.
Armed officers, search teams and a police helicopter were deployed overnight, with searches also taking place around Freedom Fields Park.
Police say the incident is believed to be isolated and there is no wider risk to the public. Officers remain in the area today while investigations continue.
