Three fire appliances were called to The Ridgeway in Plympton this morning following reports of a fire in the area.
Eyewitnesses at the scene told Plymouth Post they believed the fire was an electrical fire at The Little Habby, the newly opened haberdashery shop in St Stephen’s Place.

However, this has not been confirmed by the shop or the fire service, and we are awaiting further information before confirming where the fire started.
The Little Habby has only been open for a couple of weeks.

The shop is closed today, with a message to customers stating that it had suffered flooding and that essential work needed to be carried out, with hopes of reopening tomorrow.
It is not currently known whether the reported fire and the flooding are connected.

Firefighters appeared to have the situation under control, but the incident caused plenty of drama in the middle of The Ridgeway, with three fire appliances attending.
We will update this story when further information is confirmed.
