Knives, hammers and baseball bats reported as armed police respond to Plympton disorder
An armed police operation in Plympton on Sunday morning was linked to an investigation into a reported large-scale disorder in the town two days earlier.

Officers in the Ridgeway on Sunday
Police were called to Delacombe Close at around 9.10pm on Friday, 31 July, following reports of a disturbance involving a number of people. Initial reports suggested gunshots had been heard, but officers later established the sounds were most likely caused by car windows being smashed.
Police said several people at the scene were believed to be carrying weapons including knives, hammers and baseball bats. Armed officers attended and located a man with an injury to his arm. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A man in his 20s and a man in his 30s, both from Plymouth, were arrested on suspicion of affray. They have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
On Sunday morning, armed officers carried out an operation in the Ridgeway area of Plympton as part of the ongoing investigation. Police vehicles remained in the area while enquiries were carried out.
