Armada Way officially reopens to the public

4 July 2026

Armada Way has officially reopened, with Plymouth City Council leader Councillor Tudor Evans and Councillor Mark Lowry cutting the ceremonial ribbon as green ribbons filled the air.

Crowds gathered to celebrate the opening and explore the transformed boulevard, which once again restores the city’s main pedestrian route through the city centre.

A time capsule was also buried by project director Mark Ivett to mark the occasion.

Have you visited the new-look Armada Way yet? What do you think of the transformation?
