Two young Plymouth Scouts praised after raising hundreds of pounds for charity

Two young members of 1st Stonehouse Scout Group are being celebrated after raising hundreds of pounds for good causes through hard work and determination.

Daisy aged 13 raised an impressive £197 for Plymouth Soup Run after choosing the charity as part of her fundraising badge.

Since beginning her challenge in May, Daisy organised fundraising stalls at Cubs, the Field Gun event and the group’s AGM, while also selling items through Facebook. She was supported by InspiResin, which donated magnets, pop sockets, keyrings and bags, with half of the proceeds from each item going towards her appeal.

Daisy said she was delighted with the total she had raised and was proud to support Plymouth Soup Run. She has now presented the £197 to the charity following her successful campaign.

Meanwhile, fellow Scout Eva aged 11 raised £120, splitting the funds between the Meningitis Research Foundation and her own 1st Stonehouse Scout Group.

Inspired by a friend, Eva chose to support meningitis research while also giving back to her Scout group. She raised the money by running a crochet stall and bake sale at her school’s summer fair on 3 July.

Both girls’ fundraising efforts have been warmly praised by their Scout leaders, with their achievements highlighting the community spirit, generosity and dedication shown by young people across Plymouth.

Congratulations to both Daisy and Eva on their fantastic fundraising efforts and the difference they are making for charities and their local community.
