Thousands of people made their way to Plymouth Hoe on Wednesday evening for the opening night of the British Firework Championships, creating a fantastic atmosphere across the waterfront.
Coming just after the city’s partial solar eclipse, the evening continued with spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky above Plymouth Sound, while a drone display added another impressive element to the show. Families and visitors packed the Hoe to watch the competing displays, with many capturing the colourful scenes on their phones and cameras. With another night of competition still to come, the championships once again proved why they remain one of Plymouth’s biggest and most popular summer events.
