The journey to the stage has officially begun!
Touchwood Theatre Company held its first Meet the Cast & Crew afternoon at Chaddlewood Farm Community Centre, marking the start of the company’s journey towards this year’s winter production, Rapunzel: A Tangled Panto.
There was a fantastic buzz throughout the day as newcomers and returning performers alike came along to meet the current cast and production team and take part in a relaxed script read through. Leading the creative team were director Liz Fedrick, choreographer Jane Hooper, and Touchwood Theatre Company chairperson Sarah James, who welcomed everyone and got the journey underway.
This fun filled adaptation of Rapunzel: A Tangled Panto promises plenty of laughter, music and festive magic when it takes to the stage at The Muse Theatre in Lipson from Thursday 10 December to Saturday 12 December.
There’s still time to get involved
Although today’s session has now taken place, the company says there’s still an opportunity to join the production, with full audition information including character breakdowns, workshop dates and script details now available for anyone interested in performing. They are particularly keen to hear from more men interested in acting or backstage roles, along with dancers of all abilities to help bring the show’s big musical numbers to life.
The production is open to anyone aged 14 and over, and no previous theatre experience is needed just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. the panto is written by Limelight Scripts.
