Theatre Royal Plymouth is about to get a visit from one of the most beloved nannies in film history, as Mrs Doubtfire The Musical arrives in the city this autumn.

The hit West End and Broadway comedy musical, based on the much loved 1993 film starring Robin Williams, runs at Theatre Royal Plymouth from Tuesday 20 October to Saturday 7 November 2026, as part of its first ever UK and Ireland tour.

A hilarious and heartfelt story about holding onto your loved ones against all odds, Mrs Doubtfire is the musical comedy we need right now. Out of work actor Daniel will do anything for his kids. After losing custody in a messy divorce, he creates the alter ego of Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in a desperate attempt to stay in their lives. As his new character takes on a life of its own, Mrs Doubtfire teaches Daniel more than he bargained for about how to be a father.

Gabriel Vick reprises the title role of Daniel Hillard, following his acclaimed run in the West End production. He is joined by Kara Lily Hayworth as Miranda Hillard, Aaliya Mai as Lydia Hillard, Ryan Pidgen as Frank Hillard, Jairus McClanahan as Andre Mayem, James Darch as Stuart Dunmire, Samuelle Durojaiye as Wanda Sellner, Carl Patrick as Mr Jolly and the Judge, Kiera Haynes as Janet Lundy, and Rhianne Alleyne as the Flamenco Singer.

The show has been created by an award winning transatlantic team, with original music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, the pair behind the Tony Award nominated musical Something Rotten! Direction comes from four time Tony winner Jerry Zaks, whose credits include Hello, Dolly!

Vick said he was delighted to bring the show direct from London to audiences across the UK and Ireland, promising all the moments fans love from the film alongside brilliant new songs. “It is heartwarming, hilarious and going to be so much fun for the whole family,” he said. “See you there, poppets!”

Tickets for the Theatre Royal Plymouth run are available now.
