
A woman has been recovered from the water following a major emergency response on Plymouth Hoe today.

A large number of emergency service vehicles were seen in the Millbay Marina Village area, with police, ambulance and Coastguard crews attending.

Vehicles were seen heading down Custom House Lane, off Great Western Road, as the incident unfolded, while the HM Coastguard rescue helicopter was seen circling over the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed officers were called at around 11.40am following concerns for the welfare of a woman in the water off Plymouth Hoe.
Police confirmed the woman was recovered from the water, with police, ambulance, Coastguard and RNLI crews assisting at the scene.

HM Coastguard said it was asked to assist shortly before 11.30am.
A Coastguard helicopter was sent to Plymouth alongside Coastguard Rescue Teams from Plymouth and Tamar and two RNLI lifeboats.
Police said the incident remains ongoing.
