Major Emergency Response After Report of Child Falling from third floor Window

Emergency services have sealed off part of Union Street in Plymouth following a serious incident opposite Lidl.

At least four police vehicles and an ambulance are at the scene, with the area in front of a block of flats cordoned off as emergency services carry out their work.

An eyewitness at the scene told Plymouth Post they believed a three-year-old child had fallen from a third-floor window and had been taken to hospital. However, this information has not been confirmed by police or the ambulance service.

The nature of the incident remains unclear. Plymouth Post has contacted Devon & Cornwall Police and the South Western Ambulance Service for official information and will update this story as soon as more details are confirmed.

Police statement

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at around 3.25pm on Thursday 6 August following reports of a child being injured on Union Street, Plymouth.

Emergency services attended the scene, with the extent of the child’s injuries not yet known.

Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to the child receiving the injuries.
