Standing water and debris causing problems on Plymouth roads as Storm Boelo moves in

24 October 2026

Motorists are being urged to take extra care on Plymouth’s roads today, Saturday 24 October, as Storm Boelo brings further heavy rain and strong winds.

Large amounts of standing water are affecting roads across the city, including Ham Drive, while debris from yesterday’s strong winds remains a potential hazard.

The worst of today’s weather may still be to come, with further rain and strengthening winds expected throughout Saturday afternoon and evening.

Conditions are forecast to improve overnight, with Sunday expected to be much drier and brighter as winds gradually ease.

Drivers are advised to slow down, watch out for standing water and fallen branches, and allow extra time for their journeys.

Take it easy out there and stay safe.
