A sold-out crowd at Plymouth Albion witnessed a rapid finish on Saturday night as Josh King stopped Damon Ware with a first-round knockout in the headline bout of the Doghouse Boxing Civil War event.
The contest, which had drawn significant local interest in the build-up, ended early after King landed a decisive shot in the opening round, forcing the referee to step in and bring the fight to a halt.
Both fighters entered the ring as two of Plymouth’s most experienced competitors, with extensive records across amateur, white-collar and professional boxing. The bout had been scheduled as the main event of a fully sold-out show at Plymouth Albion.
After the stoppage, King was seen celebrating ringside with friends and family, with images and video showing him in high spirits following the result.
The Civil War event itself delivered a full-capacity crowd and a fast-paced night of boxing, with the headline contest ending in a clear and decisive finish.
