Four-year-old Dude Sutton has 4H Leukodystrophy, a rare neurological disease that slowly steals a child’s ability to move, speak, and live life as most of us take for granted.
For his mum, Kerry Sutton, every day is a battle against uncertainty and a race to make the most of every moment. “We were told he may not survive childhood,” she says. “But we are not giving up. Every day we focus on keeping him strong, happy, and creating memories we will never forget.”
Despite tremors, slow processing, and speech difficulties, Dude continues to amaze everyone around him. At Woodlands Special School, teachers work tirelessly to help him thrive, while therapies at home and abroad are giving him comfort and mobility for as long as possible.
The Suttons’ journey is heartbreaking, inspiring, and a stark reminder of how fragile life can be. Yet it is also a story of love, courage, and a community coming together to support a little boy with a big fight.
