
APPEAL: Witnesses sought after elderly man seriously injured near the Sundial
Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man suffered a serious head injury when he was jumped at by a dog in Plymouth city centre.
The incident happened at around 9.15am on Saturday 1 August near The Sundial on Armada Way.
A 79-year-old man was walking in the area when he was jumped at by a large black dog, which was not on a lead. He fell and sustained a head injury that has been described as potentially life-threatening. He remains in hospital.
Officers are appealing for the dog’s owner to come forward, and want to hear from anyone who helped at the scene and may have information about how the incident happened.
