After our Plymouth Post feature on the Snack Shack on Friday, there was a rather unexpected visitor among the queue of customers, television favourite Michael Barrymore.
Rebecca and Jason from the Snack Shack said: “It was amazing to see him here. He really caught us by surprise and what a lovely man.”
Barrymore was happy to mix in with everyone else, enjoying a laugh and a chat with locals as he waited his turn.
There were plenty of smiles along the way, with Barrymore posing for selfies, filming a few moments with a friend and generally enjoying the atmosphere.
When he finally made it inside the Snack Shack, he looked delighted as he browsed through the selection on offer.
And he certainly didn’t leave empty handed.
Emerging with a stash of cakes tucked into a carrier bag over his shoulder, Barrymore was all smiles as he stopped again to shake hands and pose for photographs with people.
Then, with that big beaming smile still on his face, he headed off with his cakes and a few more memories of his Plymouth visit.
It was a wonderfully relaxed and good humoured visit and a rather nice follow up to our Friday feature on what has become one of Plymouth’s much loved little food stops.
