Armed police detain man in Cecil Street

Armed police detained a man in Cecil Street this evening.

Eyewitnesses said armed officers restrained the man before a search was carried out by attending colleagues. Video from the scene appears to show the detention taking place. Two ambulances were also in attendance. A police vehicle was stationed alongside one of the ambulances, with an officer maintaining a presence with the ambulance.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been confirmed. We will provide further updates as and when more information becomes available.
