A woman remains in hospital with potentially life changing injuries following a serious collision which closed one of Plymouth’s busiest roads for around four hours yesterday
Emergency services were called to Outland Road at the junction with Segrave Road, near Home Park, at around 2.15pm on Tuesday 22 September.
Police have confirmed the collision involved a red Ford Fiesta and a grey Citroen C1.
The Citroen overturned and its driver, a woman in her 50s from Plymouth, sustained a serious injury which police say is potentially life changing.
She was taken by ambulance to Derriford Hospital, where police say she remains.
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust has also confirmed the scale of its response.
A spokesperson said: “We were called at 14:14hrs on Tuesday 22 September to a road traffic collision in Plymouth. We sent two double-crewed land ambulance, and an operations officer to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Derriford Hospital.”
Roads policing officers closed Outland Road for around four hours while specialist investigation enquiries were carried out.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage of the collision or the vehicles involved.
