A Plymouth athlete has made history after becoming one of the country’s first ever British Parkour Champions.
George Prior returned home with the national title after winning at the inaugural British Parkour Championships, held in Preston. His victory also secures him a place at the Parkour Earth World Championships, which will take place in the Czech Republic later this year.

The achievement comes just weeks after Plymouth Post featured George as he prepared for the competition.
There was more success for the Plymouth team, with George’s teammate Majik also producing an impressive performance by reaching the semi-finals of the national championships.
Sharing the update, Majik said:
“Just a follow up from the comps, I made semi finals and George is champion of the UK and going to World Champs in November.”

The British Championships marked a milestone for the sport, with Parkour UK staging the competition for the first time. By taking the title, George becomes one of the sport’s inaugural British champions.
George will now turn his attention to the Parkour Earth World Championships, where he is expected to compete against some of the world’s leading athletes.
Congratulations to George on an outstanding achievement, and best of luck as he prepares to represent Great Britain on the international stage.
