Few in the crowd at Plymouth Pavilions on 9 July 1998 knew they were about to get more than they paid For.
The night belonged to Paul Weller but partway through, Noel Gallagher walked out unannounced and picked up an acoustic guitar.
It was one of three surprise appearances that week, following Wolverhampton and Bristol, with the Oasis songwriter turning up unbilled to play a short, stripped-back set a mix of Beatles, Jam, and Oasis songs before slipping away again.
Among the few who knew it was coming was press photographer Wayne Perry, tipped off in advance and smuggled into the venue, hidden at the back of the hall. It gave him a clear line on a moment most of the crowd could barely believe they were watching.
Were you in the crowd that night? what do you remember?
